Fort Erie Meteors Acquire Forward Andrew Vermeulen

The Fort Erie Meteors are pleased to announce the acquisition of forward Andrew Vermeulen (2006), a native of Selkirk, Ontario, from the Kitchener Rangers of the Ontario Hockey League.

Vermeulen brings significant junior hockey experience to Fort Erie, having played 181 career OHL games with the Niagara IceDogs and Kitchener Rangers. Most recently, he helped the Rangers capture the 2026 OHL Championship and Memorial Cup, appearing in four Memorial Cup games.

“We’re extremely excited to add Andrew to our group,” said Head Coach and General Manager Nik Passero. “He’s played a lot of meaningful hockey at the OHL level and was part of a championship team last season. That experience is invaluable, and we believe he can have a big impact on our group both on and off the ice.”

The Meteors are excited to welcome Andrew and look forward to seeing him in orange and black this season.

Welcome to the Meteors, Andrew!
