Fort Erie Meteors Sign Goaltender Tanner Gibson

The Fort Erie Meteors are proud to announce the signing of goaltender Tanner Gibson (2010), of Oshawa, Ontario, for the 2026-27 season.

Gibson joins the Meteors as one of the top young goaltending prospects in Ontario after being selected by the Erie Otters in the third round (50th overall) of the 2026 OHL Priority Selection. He was also recently named to Canada’s National Under-17 Development Camp roster.

At just 16 years old, Gibson is the youngest goaltender the Meteors have carried in several years, underscoring the organization’s confidence in his talent and potential.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Tanner to the Meteors,” said Head Coach Nik Passero. “He’s an elite young goaltender with tremendous poise, work ethic, and compete level. For a player his age to have already earned recognition from both the OHL and Hockey Canada speaks volumes about the future he has. We’re excited to be part of his development.”

The Meteors are excited to welcome Tanner and his family to Fort Erie and look forward to seeing him between the pipes this season.
